Kong.Audio.ChineeGuQin.VSTi.v1.0.READ.NFO.MERRY.XMAS-peace-out

GuQin is among the few most distinctive and representative classical Chinese instruments ever. The written record of it can be traced back to at least 3,000 years ago.

It's a zither similar to GuZheng, but since GuQin does not have bridges, it is far more versatile in terms of tones and playing techniques, it is also much harder to master.

GuQin has a special place in the Chinese history as a symbol of the high-culture of the nobles and intellectuals (Junzi, Superior Man). It's also seen as the vessel for pursuing harmony. Even Confucius played and taught GuQin. During the last two tumultuous centuries of China, however, GuQin's tradition was almost extinct. Nowadays the Chinese have resumed the tradition and are trying to revitalize it.

GuQin is usually accompanied with a lower-pitched flute. ChineeNanxiao, or some other xiao in ChineeWinds are good choices of companion. The style is usually more personal and inward.

In 2003 , GuQin music is recognized as Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.

Lemonstrum 3

Lemonstrum 3 is quite different from most acoustic guitar strummers. Unlike previous versions, this one is primarily a chord sample player. Each of the 12 keys on the keyboard (A-G#) triggers the chord you assign to it. You can load up to three samples (different strokes) of the same chord for each trigger, which Lemonstrum will then play alternately whenever you press the key. A light press will play a scratch effect.

It is pre-loaded with power chords or "fifths," which blend well with both major and minor chords. You can also mic your own guitar and record three downstrokes of the chord that you want and load them into Lemonstrum 3.

Harmless is an additive synthesizer doing subtractive synthesis. Or if you prefer, a subtractive synthesizer powered by an additive synthesis engine.

You may ask: why?

For several reasons. To begin with, there are too many subtractive synthesizers already, often bragging about being virtual analog. This one is digital, and proud to be. Everything is fake, the tone generator, the filter & its resonance, the phaser, all performed on the harmonics, before partials are computed.

Now, how it's synthesized shouldn't matter after all, if the result sounds subtractive. But Harmless is more than a proof of concept, it allows fine control that wouldn't be possible through classic subtractive synthesis. Filtering and phasing can be assigned unusual shapes & slopes, something normally only possible through offline digital filters. Filter slopes can even be defined in Hz instead of octaves. Finally, you get control on each partial's frequency, creating timbres definitely impossible using common synthesis methods.

The Soundbytes HurdyGurdy is a sample based VST synthesizer for the windows platform.
It recreates the sound and playing technique of the Hurdy Gurdy.

The very special character of the ancient Hurdy Gurdy sound was until now very difficult to emulate. Many of the instruments peculiarities are not well known and using a sampler it is rather difficult to reproduce the Hurdy Gurdy in a convincing way even to those who are familiar with the instrument.

You can now use the HurdyGurdy to play the instrument with ease. This synthesizer has been built to recreate not only the sound but also the true behaviour of the original instrument.

* Chanter and Drones will sound continously as long as the instrument is playing.
* As with the real instrument the sound will not stop when all keys are released. Instead the base key note is playing on. Playing traditional figures and ornaments is a breeze this way.
* Use the pitch wheel or a continous midi controler to activate the trompette buzz. Playing the trompette will also alter pitch and volume for increased realism.
* Use aftertouch or pitch wheel to bend the chanter note. This is done by pressing the key against the chanter string and does not influence the pitch of the drones.

The StringVerb simulates a cluster of seven sympathetic strings. These strings are attached to the body of an instrument. They are not struck or bowed. Instead their resonant tone is merely excited by the vibration of the instrument.
